Postage stamp collectors are alive and well in the Northwest! The Seattle Philatelic Exhibition (SEAPEX) became a nationally recognized stamp show when I was commissioned to update the logo. For many years, I designed collectible envelope cachets for each day of the event, based on a timely anniversary as the theme. In 2016 my vector designs for each of three days were a progression of Boeing achievements starting with short flights within WA State, then longer flights across the U.S., and finally space exploration. A more recent exhibition portrayed three moments of the 1969 moon landing: the launch, the flight path, and the moon exploration. Each cancel stamp was designed within strict U.S. Postal Service guidelines.
The Strait Stamp Society holds an annual stamp show in Sequim and commissioned me each year to design one envelope cachet to commemorate a local anniversary. In 2017, I created a watercolor illustration to honor the Migratory Bird Treaty and in 2018, I combined hand-drawn illustrations and vector text to celebrate the local Rotary Club Salmon Bake.
The American Topical Association (ATA), (the world's largest organization for stamp collectors who focus on specific topics) Biology Unit is dedicated to the international cooperative study of biological postage stamps and related material. I designed a professional logo and built MS Word templates for their monthly journal.
